Purpose

Determine whether current node is inside a referenced branch.

Key inputs / outputs

• Inputs: root (RawNodeReference).
• Outputs: bool.

Success / Failure semantics

• Returns true if current stage node is equal to or descendant of root.

Important limitations

• Invalid references are treated as false.
